Do children today have it too easy?

Its half term Ive taken my 6 year old to the pictures, then for a mcdonald and then on to a garden centre to see the pets that are there.

How dose he behave as if he never goes out the house and is totally unruley

what would you do with him as a punishment

he went out with 3 other children so was not alone at the time

Do children today have it too easy?
Tell him next time he acts like that you will not take him anywhere else. Take him to the movies and tell him that if he is well behaved that you will go to McDonald's. If he acts unruly then simply take him home.I did it once and that was all it took for my 6 year old. You can also try taking just him with you. Six year olds tend to show off when with other six year olds. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Try to praise him when he does something good rather than scold him when he does something wrong.

The more he gets your attention for being naughty, the more he does it. It can be hard sometimes to get the balance right.

I try to praise my kids when they do something good rather than ignore it. IWhen I do scold my kids I try not to give them TOO much attention.

Get a chart and put a star every time he does something good and tell him at the end of the week if he get so and so stars then he can get a treat (day out or something).

This may encourage him something good to look forward to, for good behaviour.

Try watching Super Nanny Channel 4 (UK) or ABC (USA)! Some of the tips really does work!! :-)

Hope this helps. Good luck!

If he misbehaves when out, explain to him that behaviour isnt acceptable, perhaps give a warning, and say you willl take him home, and send his friends home also - and do what you say!

Even if it means throwing away the mcdonalds, or leaving part way through a movie - he will soon see that this behaviour gets nothing and just results in the treats ending. Soon enough the warning will be enough to stop the behaviour as he will know you will carry out your punishment.
Reply:i have a ten a n eight and a three year old and they know if we are out and they play up then when we get home i take whats most precious to them like my ten yr old computer is his life so i take that my eight yr old i take her stereo and my three yr old well to be honest he is harder at the mo but i try taking his cars off him but you get what i mean ................
Reply:I agree with KK. At 6 years old, they are old enough to reason with. You should be able to talk to him and explain what is expected of him. My punishment would be to take away a privilege.
