Visit an animal rescue centres that let you look around for a small donation*Cycle routes around reservoirs/nature reserves*Check out if your local council are holding any holiday schemes*Look for ideas at your local leisure centre eg football / hockey / swimming courses*Visit a skate park or go roller blading*Some places/sports have a try it free day, so keep an eye in the local newspapers eg archery, canoeing and pottery*Go pond dipping*Go on a wellie walk if it rains*Meet up with other parents at the local parks and take a picnic*Visit an animal petting farm*Go for a bike ride*If you don't have any pets-borrow one for the day. Walk it, bath it*Visit a corn maize*Local museums-some are free*Make tents in the garden with old sheets*See whats on at your local library*
Need something to do with the kids during the hols?
For older kids - end of primary into secondary - get them around for a crafting session making cards etc. Try not to make it too teachy, great for really rainy dull days.

I borrowed a lion from my local zoo, since then my neighbours have been quiet and won't be having parties till 3am =)
(not really but thanks for the idea.. wonder if giraffe's are handy at cleaning 3rd storey windows..hmm)
