Turtle question!! dnt answer if u dnt no!?
here is a site that will help you , most probably they are red eared sliders or yellow bellied sliders, these are the most common turtle in the pet trade http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/reptilest... no you don't need to put salt in the water they are fresh water turtles, the minimum you will need is a ten gallon tank, a good filter a UV light and basking light, a water heater, and some plants, a turtle needs a place whee it can come out of the water and bask, a UV light is important as they need to get the essential UV rays to help digest their food, if the tank is cold or the water is cold then they won't eat and will get sick here is a site that will give you lots of information on caring for a turtle http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/aq...
Reply:turtles/terrapins can be kept in a large freshwater tank, temp wise it needs to be a bout 60-70c or room temp. they need places to get out of the water and bask and you will need a very good filter system otherwise after a couple of days the water will cloud up and smell really bad. feed wise just get some terrapin food sticks which float on the surface and give about 4 to each terrapin every day , i use to keep the liver from raw chickens and freeze it and cut a bit off as a treat every day. make sure you wash your hands after handling them or putting your hand in the water as you can get salmonella .
Reply:i think this is a spur moment
take a step back and ask yourself do i really want to get a turtle
you don't sound very in the know start reading up on them once you think you know everything there is to know read some more and then consider it before you get the turtle you need to ste up thank and leave it a week thenget the turtles
and the doan't live in salt water unless the are marine turtles which i doubt these ones are
