I saw a concrete block based modular retaining wall at a garden centre used for landscaping. It had blocks which had circular openings at the front allowing plants to be grown in the wall. The wall itself was sloped. I am trying to find out where to get some from (in the UK)

Go to a garden centre in the area that you saw the wall., Its most likely that the people bought it locally.. Failing that go up to the front door and say how much you admire their wall and ask where they obtained the blockwork. Its amazing, but you will find that in most cases it works..
