What are the type of things to plan for activities for 10 year old birthday party?

What do they like these days?

Do they dance... or do they still want to play games?

Party will be held at cumunity centre with a garden...So what out-doors activity can we organise?

What are the type of things to plan for activities for 10 year old birthday party?
if its a mixed group of boys and girls five a side footballs good girls can play and may beat the boys . Rounders is really good adults can get involved to. Music is a must every one loves to dance , try getting some music that has a dance to it most kids know all the steps. karaoke really good. bit of food . depending on how long party is and weather good 40Min's outside 40Min's inside and before you know it they will all be going home leaving you to clean up.
Reply:I'm treating mine to have her, 6 friends, cousin and her 2 sisters to have their nails done, then are going to my house for games and a happy meal (so i'll have 10 girls)
Reply:Depends if it's a mixed party or not. The kids I teach are obsessed with tag and soccer. Always classic games but adults need to enforce the rules. All my recess problems have to do with someone not playing by the rules :P Another good one is a musical chairs type game but with hoola hoops. The kids have to grab a hoop and start hoola-ing when the music stops. The first to drop the hoop is out. Red rover is alwasy a good one (sometimes results in minor injuries.) Find a game of twister. Can be played indoors or out and wears the little guys out.
Reply:How large is the space? Can you fit an inflatable?. 10-yr-olds are a little old for the "bouncy houses" but they have some really fun ones for older kids nowadays, like sumo-wrestling rings, or gladiator rings with blow-up outfits.
Reply:Here someof game that will bring lot's of fun

get some plastic balls, or foam balls (about the size of a mc Donald's plastic ball or a tennis ball) to make a the following game: divide the kids in two teams, boy and girls maybe, give each team a bucket or basket (that can be purchase at the dollar store) full of balls, at least 20, trace a line betweet that divides each team, or put some cones to make the division, when they hear the whisle or when you say "go" the girls team will try to throw all the balls in the basket to the boys are and viceversa, after 3 minutes you stop the game, the team who wins is the one who has less ball in their are.

another game is Musical Hats, is just like musical chairs but instead of chair you will use hats, place the hat making a circle on the grass, you can buy really funny ones at oriental trading, or contact kids Memories if you just want to rent them, the kids will need to go around the circle of hats with their hands behind the back, they can sing a song if you are not bringing any CD player and you can just blow a whisle or say "Stop" they will laugh a lot when they see each other with the funny hats on and you will also take really nice pictures.

You can also make a Potato Sacks game, (they will need some help, assign a couple of adults) you can also purchase them at oriental trading or just rent them at kids Memories.

the water balloon is fun too, have a bucket full of water and place inside enough ballons for all the team.

each team needs to persons, the game consists in throwing and chatching the water balloon to your partner in front of you without exploting it and getting wet as a result!, once the water balloon breaks that team is out until last couple remains with the balloon intact. the kids will throw the balloon every time you say "GO", just to make sure everybody does it at the same time.

Have fun!
Reply:you could play party game sand stuff like pass the parcel and

other party games
Reply:Difficult.

Id say bit of boths as the opposite sex still has boy or girl coodies.

Maybe boys verses girls waterfight.

Hire bouncy castle?

Fancy dress say heros and villans or horror... 9kids love grosse stuff)

Showing them how to make fake wounds and blood mixture.
Reply:When my daugter turned ten she wanted a dance party. So we turned the basement into a disco with disco lights and a dj and invited her entire class and a few friends and cousins and they danced and shot ballon darts in one corner and played board games in the other those kids had refreshments their choice of pizza or walking tacos (meat and cheese served in a small bag of doritos). They had a geart time and I learned a few groovy moves myself.
Reply:To the first poster: That is an overgeneralization. When I was 10 years old, I enjoyed reading the newspaper, not "anything gross or disgusting".

As to the asker of the question, do you know the kids? Do you know what they like? If so, you should organize the party accordingly.

And, I strongly doubt that they will dance with each other, though, I don't know the kids, so I could be wrong.
Reply:Boy or girl?

Boy - anything grotesque or disgusting, or team competititve (tug-of-war) etc.

Girl - disco or making stuff (jewellery, pottery)
