I work in a garden centre and for the last 4 weeks we have had no customers we are all bored. It is an execellent centre and has a resturant aquriam and toy shop. Whats the deal?
Why are all the customers?
Retail in general has taken a massive hit this summer, right across the board from merchandise to food and beverage. Bit depressing isn't it? Why has no one got any money to spend? (Neither do I, I spent too much on a hol in May and I'm now counting the pennies)
Reply:I'm sure and that really sounds unusual... I do have a suggestion, if you don't mind, that is. You say you work at a garden centre? Well, I vote that you and the managers or whoever get together and plan some kind of event for the kids (like teach the kids how to take care of such and such plant and what it needs etc. and give them a small, inexpensive, plant to take home and plant for themselves). That should be bound to get some people coming! I wish you the best of luck!!!
Reply:Bush!
Reply:Probably the poor weather recently....
des'nt relly feel the time for gardening :s
It'll probably pick up when we hopefully get some sun
Reply:no one wants to work in thier garden in this weather , it will pick up when we dry out
Reply:It must be due to the poor weather, i work for Argos and sales of many of our goods have suffered due to the rain.
Reply:Could be a number of factors related to gardening. Prime gardening season could be over. There could be too much heat or drought. Could be people have another major activity to do.
It could also be the centre itself not advertising well enough and not getting people engaged in gardening, just assuming they'll show up.
Reply:Well, it depends on where you live.
The other answers assumed rain, but if you live in the western US it's like 116 degrees during the day and every living thing I have in the yard is begging to be put to death at this point to end the suffering. I'm not going to replace dead plants with more plants that will die, you know?
Reply:It's been raining loads and that puts people off shopping.
Reply:You need some good advertising to get people in to your garden centre.
